Privacy Policy
jack7 is built to let people play a quick card game without accounts, profiles, advertising, or tracking.
Last updated: 16 June 2026
Summary
jack7 does not require an account. We do not ask for your real name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, photos, or payment details to play. We do not sell your data, show you ads, or share your information with advertisers.
jack7 automatically collects anonymous gameplay analytics from the moment the app is first launched. This helps us understand how the game is being used and where to improve it. No analytics data is linked to your identity or can be used to identify you. Analytics cannot be turned off from within the app.
For Apple App Store privacy purposes, jack7 does not track users across apps or websites owned by other companies, and we do not collect data that is linked to your identity.
What jack7 collects
Anonymous gameplay analytics
jack7 uses PostHog to collect anonymous event data. PostHog assigns each install a random identifier that is not linked to your name, Apple ID, or any other personal information. Events sent include:
- App events: app launched, app version
- Onboarding events: onboarding started, slides viewed, onboarding completed or skipped (first-launch carousel)
- Game events: game started, game completed (mode, duration, win/loss as a boolean), cards played, runs played, power cards played, pickup penalties, rule errors
- Multiplayer events: online room created (public or private), room joined (via public list, room code, or invite link), and lobby left before the match started (seconds spent waiting, whether bots were present, whether you were the host, lobby size)
- Save events: game saved, game resumed (offline mode only)
- Tutorial events: tutorial started, steps completed, tutorial skipped or completed
No player display names, room codes, or opponent information are included in any analytics event.
This data is used only to understand how the game is played — which features are used, where players encounter difficulty, and how the tutorial performs.
Game server data
When you create or join an online room, the server processes the minimum information needed to run that game:
- a room code, so other players can join the same table
- the temporary player name you choose for that room
- game state (cards, turns, scores, connection status)
- WebSocket connection metadata
Room codes are ephemeral. Player names are temporary per-room labels, not account names.
Connection logs
The jack7 server and hosting infrastructure may create short-lived operational logs for WebSocket and HTTP connections. These can include IP addresses, request times, connection status, and technical error information. They are used only to operate, debug, and secure the service — not for advertising, profiling, or tracking.
What jack7 does not collect
- Account details or personal profiles
- Your real name, email address, or phone number
- Contact lists or social graph
- Precise or approximate location
- Payment information
- Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
- Player display names or room codes in analytics
- Any data sold to advertisers or data brokers
Third-party services
PostHog (analytics)
Anonymous gameplay events are sent to PostHog, hosted on PostHog's EU cloud infrastructure (eu.i.posthog.com), which stores data within the European Economic Area. PostHog's privacy policy is available at posthog.com/privacy.
Hosting
The jack7 game server is hosted on infrastructure operated by Hetzner and deployed with Coolify. These providers process server traffic as needed to host the service.
Your rights
Analytics are automatic — there is no in-app setting to disable them. Because the data is anonymous and not linked to your identity, we are unable to retrieve or delete a specific individual's analytics records. There is no account or identifier to search by.
For any privacy questions or concerns, contact adi@ambacelar.com.
Retention
Anonymous analytics events are retained by PostHog for up to 1 year. Game rooms, room codes, and player names are temporary and exist only for live gameplay. Operational server logs are kept only as long as needed for debugging and service reliability.
Children
jack7 is a card game. Because there are no accounts or profile features, players should avoid using real names or sharing personal information in player names.
Changes
This policy will be updated if the app's data practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects when changes were last made.
